I’m a bookbinder and graphic designer currently studying at ArtEZ University of the Arts. I’m particularly interested in book design, printed matter, archiving, bookbinding and have a deep passion for traditional crafts. I enjoy a collaborative creative process. My work is driven by a commitment to craftsmanship, with a keen eye for detail, colour combinations and clarity of design. Whether it’s crafting custom books, designing layouts, or preserving the beauty of traditional techniques, my goal is always to produce work that is both functional and visually compelling.

A carefully curated collection of 93 faience plates from the Rijksmuseum digital archive. All hand-painted, glazed and fired in Delft, The Netherlands.

For this collection I chose to look at Delftware plates made in Delft, The Netherlands. My choice was mainly inspired by my interest in traditional craft and my mothers collection of Spode tableware. I curated a collection of 93 faience plates which I then ordered based on the amount of blue glaze that is used on the plates.

The book consists of 3 chapters. The first chapter of the book shows full-page spreads of the imagery painted on the plate. The second chapter shows mosaic-style spreads highlighting the smaller details in each of the plates. The third and final chapter of the book is an index of all plates featured in the book. The index contains information on the production of each plate. Mentioned are: page-number, description, production date, painting technique and dimensions.
